'It's a favor not to arrest you'

Many environmentalists and conservationists in the US have cheered the possibility of a deal in Copenhagen at the COP15 that would funnel money to the developing world to preserve forests and wildlife biodiversity. Yet some of the world's indigenous peoples worry that it will get them kicked out of their ancestral homes to be left with nothing, and that it still won't preserve their countries' forests.

What follows is an interview with a Thai community organizer for the nation's poor. He came here to the COP15 climate summit here in Copenhagen to protest the REDD standard and speak about the impact deforestation efforts have already had on the indigenous Thai peoples.
